PEAK: Portuguese Canyon Trail

  • PEAK Difficulty
  • {difficulty} Trail has some inclines, but nothing too strenuous. Be sure to bring good shoes and plenty of water.
  • {scenery} Great ocean views, dramatic cliffs, and rolling hills are just some of the sights you can expect. On clear days you can see Catalina Island in the distance.
  • {fun fact} Palos Verdes was home to the Tongva-Gabrieliño Native Americans for thousands of years before Spanish settlers arrived.

PROFESSOR: Margaret Rosenthal

  • {department} Italian
  • {interests} Professor Rosenthal teaches a variety of renaissance literature courses at USC and is the author of a number of books on the subject. Her book The Honest Courtesan was adapted into the 1998 Warner Brothers film Dangerous Beauty.
  • {ratemyprofessor} It is professors like her that make me wish I could stay in college forever. :)Great class, had an 'aha' moment in almost every session. There's a fair amount of reading, but the novels are engrossing; so I didn't mind at all.
